INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES (Extra Funds for Brent)
Extra funds have been released for the Borough of Brent by the Office of the Civil Society, managed nationally by the Community Development Foundation and managed locally* by
The criteria for application will be denoted by each individual borough’s Compact.
Who can Apply?
Ø Your group must not have a turnover of more than 30k
Ø Your Organisation must be Volunteer led
Ø Your group must have been in existence for at least 12 months and be able to supply evidence of income.
Ø Your group must have it’s own separate bank account
Ø Your organisation must be able to provide a governing document, protection policies, and equal opportunity policies. (you may be given help to produce
What can you apply for?
Ø Equipment Costs
Ø Rent
Ø A new project
Ø Activities to expand an existing project
Ø Activities that meet an identified need in
Ø Activities which are Compact Compliant.
Ø 7.5% (minimum) for core/capital costs
You can apply for a grant ranging from £250.00 up to a maximum of £5,000.00.
Please note if you have already received a Grassroots grant of £5,000 you are eligible for this programme.
We cannot support;
Ø Individuals
Ø Organisations with a turnover of more than 30k
Ø Organisations younger than 12months
Ø Organisations which are not volunteer led
What can’t the grant be spent on
Ø No money can be spent on marketing and advertising, or any promotional activity.
Ø This includes:
Ø Paid for advertising and marketing activity, such as notices in newspapers, journals, local radio spots etc
Ø Professional printing of publications, such as posters, leaflets and fliers
Ø All paid for conferences and exhibitions, including hire of venues for purely promotional events
Ø Professional web design
Ø No aspect of the activity funded by this Grant may be party-political in intention, use, or presentation
Ø The Grant may not be used to support or promote services or events where the key purpose is to promote a religious doctrine; mission or proselytism; promotion of the beliefs of a particular faith (beyond basic religious/cultural awareness raising); acquisition of religious artefacts or publications for the use of followers in worship; building works or repairs designed to benefit only the members of a particular place of worship or religious organisation; the cost of supporting religious personnel in their normal duties in their place of worship.
When do the grants need to be spent?
Ø The funds must be spent by 30th September 2011 to spend the grant.
